Day 1 to 3 – Armadale Lodge, Harare

Arrive to Harare International Airport, and travel with your private guide to Armadale Guest Lodge, full of art and family run. Explore the local craft markets, the urban centre and National Art Gallery, while you learn about Zimbabwe’s fascinating tribal and colonial history. Sample traditional food, meet with some of Zimbabwe’s renowned Shona sculptors as well as a visit to the Patrick Mavros silversmith studio and home.

Day 3 to 4 – Lodge at the Ancient City, Great Zimbabwe

Travel 4 hours southbound to Masvingo, and venture into the Great Zimbabwe ruins, acknowledged as the largest collection of ruins in Africa south of the Sahara and home of tribal royalty. Built between the 11th and 15th centuries, they are testament to a culture of great wealth and great architectural skill.

Day 4 to 7 – Camp Amalinda, Matopos National Park

Following a 4 hour drive with your guide to the mystical Matobo Hills, arrive at Camp Amalinda, a unique lodge with rooms tucked into the towering rock faces. After a lunch down by the famous infinity rock pool, venture into the local village by other bicycle or car to glimpse into modern village life. The next two days your academic archaeologist will guide you on a full day tour of the Khami ruins, the capital of the Torwa dynasty. And the next, morning rhino tracking, hike in search of ancient cave paintings, and finish with sundowners a Cecil John Rhodes’ grave.

Day 7 to 10 – The Hide, Hwange National Park

One shouldn’t travel to Zimbabwe without enjoy the incredible wildlife as well, and Hwange National Park is a year round haven for incredible numbers of elephants, big cats, plains game, and highly endangered painted dog. Your three night stay at The Hide Safari Lodge is a luxury reprieve.

Day 10 to 12 – The Victoria Falls Hotel, Victoria Falls

The last leg of your road trip is a 3 hour journey to the mighty Victoria Falls! Spend your final two nights in the historic Victoria Falls Hotel, the grand Edwardian-era hotel sits in a prime position overlooking one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world.
