Day 1 to 4 – Camp Amalinda, Matopos National Park

Arrive to Bulawayo Airport and transfer to Camp Amalinda, a haven tucked away in an ancient bushman's shelter. This unique and intimate lodge in the Matobo Hills sets a majestic backdrop for a warm Zimbabwe welcome.After a refreshing lunch and perhaps a swim in the famous rock pool, meet Paul Hubbard an academic archaeologist and your private guide. The following two days with Paul include rhino tracking on foot, a visit to Cecil John Rhodes' grave for a fascinating historical account of the region, cultural visits to a nearby African village and school, immersive hiking to San Bushmen paintings in the National Park.


Day 5 to 8 – The Hide, Hwange National Park

After a 4 hour northbound drive, arrive to Hwange National Park and settle in for a few nights of luxury in the bush at family owned favourite, The Hide Safari Lodge.Hwange National Park is home to one of the world's largest elephant populations - 30,000 estimated in the park. The Hide’s private concession is rich with wildlife all year, with frequent sighting from the lodges watering hole of big cats, and large herds of elephant, buffalo, wild dog and prolific plains game. The underground ‘hide’, complete with wine cellar, allows for excellent photographic opportunity.For the last evening in Hwange, spend the night out in the Dove’s Nest - a romantic sleep out in a rustic, tree house canopy.

Day 9 to 10 – The Victoria Falls Hotel, Victoria Falls

Following a 3 hour private drive north, spend the final two nights in the grand Victoria Falls Hotel, one of the country’s most iconic hotels. This Edwardian-era hotel sits in a prime position overlooking one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world. It was built in the early 1900’s, during the time when Cecil Rhodes famously attempted to link Cape Town to Cairo by rail. In the small village of Victoria Falls, experience as many or as little as your heart desires, from adrenaline filled white water rafting and zip lining, to historic steam trains and historical walks. Always included is a dreamy sunset cruise down the mighty Zambezi River for an African farewell to remember.
