Calling all fishermen and women! We have created a private guided 10 day, fly-in fishing group getaway, exploring three spots which offer the most impressive sport fishing. Bass fishing on the beautiful Lake Mteri, all species fishing at Bumi Hills on Lake Kariba and Tiger Fishing at your exclusive luxury lodge on the great Zambezi River.

Day 1 to 4 – Mteri Dam, Chiredzi

Arrive to Buffalo Range Airport and travel into the beautiful Hippo Valley Sugar Estate in the southern stretch of Zimbabwe. The sweeping views of Lake Mteri and natural beauty of the Zimbabwean landscape play stage to spectacular bass, bream, and barbel fishing with a record catch of 6.5kgs and average hookups of 2.5–3kgs. Mteri Dam is arguably some of the best fishing in the country, and every angler’s best chance of catching a giant large-mouth bass. The lake is roughly 975 hectares with an abundance of lay down and stand up timber, as well as thickets of reeds, grass beds and beds of lily pads making it ideal for top water, spinner baits, soft plastic lures, and heavy braids. A fisherman’s dream!

Day 4 to 7 – Zambezi Cruise Safaris, Lake Kariba

After a spot of early morning fishing on Mteri Dam, endulge in a large wholesome breakfast before a charter flight to Lake Kariba to board your private houseboat. Lake Kariba is Zimbabwe’s vast fresh-water inland sea - 280 kms long and 40 kms at its widest. It was built when the Zambezi River was dammed at Kariba Gorge in the 1950s and has become the second largest man-made lake in the world. Kariba is a wildlife and water wilderness paradise! Have your rod back in the water by  lunch and spend the next few days cruising and enjoying  some of the most rewarding fishing, game viewing and bird life in this paridise, all from the comfort of your own private boat.

Day 7 to 10 – Big Five Safaris, Chewore

After another hop, skip and a jump down the escarpment and through the vast and wild valley, arrive at camp on the mighty Zambezi River. Expect spectacular African scenery, uninhabited wilderness, an abundance of wildlife along the river and warm sunny weather. Big Five Safari Lodge is an Explore Zimbabwe exclusive camp, offering fishermen luxury accommodation just down river from Mana Pools. Highly qualified staff play a vital role in your fishing experience, ensuring the game fish of your choice is found effortlessly, whilst ensuring your safety at all times.
